Jonathan is a PhD student in the EPSRC CDT in Cloud computing for Big Data at Newcastle University. Previously he attained a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of York.
Jonn'y PhD topic is Scalable Bayesian Inference of Streaming Data. Jonny is using data from the Urban Observatory to analyse real-time data and create smarter living spaces and develop scalable statistical algorithms for analysing data in the cloud.
Previous employment: Customer Insight Analyst at Plusnet - developing predictive models for campaign response, customer attrition and call rates using a combination of R and SQL (MySQL and MSSQL).
Research interests: Bayesian inference, Scala, large distributed data processing
