James is a second year PhD student at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cloud Computing for Big Data. James worked in IT for 9 years in various roles, beginning as a software developer, and later a business intelligence consultant and project manager. His fascination in the potential for wearable technology to revolutionise healthcare brought him back to Newcastle University, where he studied Psychology as an undergraduate and completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science. James is now studying for a PhD in Energy harvesting for low energy devices. In his spare time he's learning to play the piano.
